Moringa, more formally known as Moringa Oleifera or the drumstick tree, is native to India but also grows in Jamaica. The tree is popular in Jamaica and is often used to in medicinal applications. Moringa is used for treating issues such as mood disorders, bacterial diseases, heal wounds, reducing high blood pressure and edema.

Moringa Oleifera is used primarily in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industry. The ingredients found in Moringa Oleifera contain hydrating and detoxifying components used to nourish or protect hair and skin.

Constituents and Characteristics

Belonging to the Moringaceae family, Moringa Oleifera is a fast growing drought resistant tree that bears seeds within a pod. These seeds which are commonly referred to Moringa seeds are often swallowed raw after the seed is dried. Moringa contains Vitamin A/B1, potassium, magnesium ,iron as well as other vitamins and minerals.
